How to setup Visual Studio for learning reverse engineering

Often, when compiling reverse engineering tutorials with Visual Studio, a lot of “other stuff” gets compiled in (these are good things for your code, but add complexity for a beginner).

I have found an excellent walkthrough on how to configure a Visual Studio project for use in learning reverse engineering.

While I did not create this document, I have linked to it online here.
